Approach

Through my training and my experience, I have come to believe that all psychological approaches have value, and that no one psychological approach is a good fit for everyone; nor is one approach often sufficient for any one individual person's needs.

Therefore, the approach that I use is “integrative,” meaning that I integrate elements from various approaches into my own, seeking what is the most appropriate and effective for you. What is appropriate and effective for you depends as much on your needs, goals and preferences as it does on the nature of the "problem", and on my skills and experience. The approach can include elements of Humanistic  Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Coaching, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, Visualization / Guided Imagery and Stress Reduction techniques.

I also sometimes use newer, energy-focused ("Energy Psychology") techniques that I have found to be highly effective for reducing and even resolving symptoms, and to create changes in patterns of feeling and thinking.

While I have considerable experience using EFT ("Tapping") and continue to use it, I have also trained in Heart Assisted Therapy (HAT) and Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT). I am a Certified Practitioner in Logosynthesis, my Energy Psychology technique of choice.
